Supporting Dallas County Families Since 2017

While Kids First has served families across Dallas County since 2009, we opened our dedicated Dallas meeting and training location in 2017, located in the Richardson area. This site allows us to better support foster, adoptive, and kinship families living in North Dallas County.

Why Dallas Families Need Support

Just like in other parts of Texas, children in Dallas County are being removed from unsafe environments and need homes nearby. By offering a local training and meeting space, Kids First makes it easier for families in the Dallas area to attend required sessions, receive guidance, and stay connected with our team.

Convenience Without the Commute

Our Richardson location was opened to bridge the distance from our Fort Worth main office — giving families in North Dallas County a more convenient, accessible location for orientations, training, and ongoing support.

  • I was new to the foster and adoption process, but Kids First made getting licensed easy. They answered all my questions, and the training was flexible and straightforward. We welcomed our first child within weeks, and even now, Kids First continues to support us. Their honesty and guidance from the start made all the difference. If you’re looking for an agency that truly cares, I highly recommend Kids First. - Michael

  • When I considered becoming a foster parent, I wanted to provide a home where kids could feel safe and loved. But I had a lot of questions. How much work would it take? Could I be successful? Could I handle unpredictable situations? Kids First is extremely helpful and very skilled at communicating exactly what foster parents need. I can call them day or night, and someone answers the phone to support me. There’s a genuine sense of community with other foster parents, and I never feel alone in this incredibly rewarding journey. - Diane

  • The process of foster parenting is challenging and, at the same time, immensely rewarding. Carla and the team at Kids First have made sure I know what to expect at every phase. They prioritize relationships and provide a human touch so we can be the best advocates possible for the kids. I’ve encouraged many friends and co-workers to start the training process and become involved with Kids First. - Annette
