Kids First is a licensed contract provider with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS). Kids First searches for children who are legally free for adoption. These children have been neglected or abused and are unable to return home to their biological families.

Responsible Healthy Adult (21 years old)
Stable Income
Reliable Transportation
Married or Single, not separated
Home Study Cleared
Child Abuse, Criminal Clearances
FBI Check Clearance
33 Hours of Training - Provided by Kids First
If Divorced, must be Divorced for 6 months
Cleared Fire and Health Home Inspection
The Steps to Becoming an Adoptive Family are:
Kids First recommends being licensed as a Foster-to-Adopt Family
Attend an Orientation
Complete an Application
Pass a Central Registry and Criminal Background Check
Pass a FBI Check
Compete 33 Hours of Training offered by Kids First
Pass a Fire and Health Home Inspection
Provide various documents for your file
Pass a Home Study
